VAT Calculator
Add VAT to a net amount, or remove VAT from a gross amount.
Calculate VAT
Use the net amount and VAT rate to calculate the VAT and gross total, or start with a gross amount to find the net value.
Add VAT: Gross = Net × (1 + VAT rate / 100)
Remove VAT: Net = Gross / (1 + VAT rate / 100)
How is VAT calculated?
To add VAT (Net to Gross)
Multiply the net amount by (1 + VAT rate percentage). For example, to add 20% VAT to £100:
£100 × 1.20 = £120
To remove VAT (Gross to Net)
Divide the gross amount by (1 + VAT rate percentage). For example, to remove 20% VAT from £120:
£120 ÷ 1.20 = £100
